This Matar Pulao recipe is amazingly delicious and your kids
will definitely will love it too with plain yogurt.
Things We Will Need:-
Oil – ½ cup
Rice -2 cups
Matar (Peas) – ½ cup (canned)
Garlic cloves -3 chopped
Onion - ½ sliced
Cumin seeds :- 1 tsp
Whole Spices (Sabit Garam Masala): -
Cloves(long)- 4
Black Pepper -8
Cinnamon – 1 stick
Bay leave -1
Salt – 1 ½ tsp
Instructions:-
- Wash the basmati rice till the water runs clear.
- Soak the rice for 30 minutes. ...
- Heat oil in a pot.
- Then Add thinly sliced (half) onion. Fry onions till golden
brown.
- Add garlic chopped.
- Add the cumin seeds along with all the whole spices.
- Saute till the spices release their aroma and become
fragrant.
- Then add ½ cup canned peas.
- Stir well and saute for a minute.
- Now add the drained rice and stir gently and saute for a minute.
- Then add 4 cups water
- Season with Salt and stir well.
- Cover the Pot lid tightly and cook the rice on medium flame till
all the water is absorbed and rice grains are cooked.
- Now on very low flame cook the rice with tight lid for 10
minutes more.
- Open the lid carefully because it will be full of steam at
this point.
- Fluff the rice and serve rice hot with yogurt, raita and fresh
salad.
